1. Agreement
Welcome to LyFi. These Terms of Use govern your use of lyfiapp.com and related services, operated by LyFi ("we", "us"). By using LyFi, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Who Can Use LyFi
You must be at least 18 years old to use LyFi. By using it, you confirm you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Your Account
You sign in using Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google account secure. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Content You Submit
LyFi is a community platform where users add lyrics, annotations, comments, and artist information. When you submit content you agree that:
• It is accurate to the best of your knowledge and follows our Contributor Guidelines.
• It may be publicly displayed, edited, moderated, or removed by LyFi or other contributors.
• You will not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringing.
• You will not spam, manipulate the reputation system, or disrupt the platform.
5. Lyrics and Rights-Holders
Song lyrics and related materials belong to their respective owners (artists, songwriters, and publishers). LyFi hosts lyrics and annotations for education, discussion, and cultural documentation. If you are a rights-holder and believe content infringes your rights, use the Contact page and we will review and, where appropriate, remove it.
6. Your Licence to LyFi
You keep ownership of the original content you create, such as your own annotations and comments. By posting to LyFi, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and to promote the platform. This licence continues for content that remains on the platform after your account is closed.
7. LyFi's Intellectual Property
The LyFi name, logo, design, and software are owned by LyFi. You may not copy, modify, or reuse them without our permission.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: use LyFi unlawfully; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or other accounts; scrape or bulk-download content except as permitted; or upload malware or interfere with the platform.
9. Moderation
We may review, edit, remove, or restrict content and accounts at our discretion, including content that violates these Terms. We are not obligated to monitor content but may do so.
10. Advertising
LyFi may display promotional or sponsored content, which will be identified as such. We are not responsible for the products, services, or claims of third-party advertisers.
11. Third-Party Services
LyFi relies on third parties including Google, Supabase, Cloudflare, and YouTube, and may link to external sites. We are not responsible for their content or practices; your use of them is governed by their own terms.
12. Disclaimers
LyFi is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that lyrics or annotations are accurate or complete, or that the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use LyFi at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LyFi and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LyFi and its operators from claims and expenses arising from your contributions or your violation of these Terms.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any disputes are subject to the courts of Kenya.
